The St.
Ignatius Contemporary Group, "CELEBRATE"

Celebrate's Second CD
"Share In The Joy"

|
The "Share
In The Joy" CD by CELEBRATE
(The 10:30AM Mass Contemporary Group) is finished. Lots of
exciting things led up to the conclusion of this project,
including a special guest appearance by Eddie Hedges of ‘Blessid
Union Of Souls’ playing drums and percussion
on "Was It A Morning Like This". We think
you’ll really like this song and we thank Eddie for taking
time from his band’s recording of their new album to help us
with ours. Check this site for pictures of Eddie and more.
Happily, members of our group returned from Nashville on
February 15, after a great mastering session with one of the
industry’s finest mastering
engineers, Benny
Quinn. Benny has mastered Grammy winning songs and a
"who’s who" list of Christian Contemporary artists,
including Sandi Patty, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith. Equally
impressive are the pop and country artists that Benny has
engineered and/or mastered such as Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash,
Alabama, KC And The Sunshine Band, The London Philharmonic, and
even Elvis (but he hasn’t seen him lately)!! We’re
appreciative to Benny for the same quality and attention given
to us as to the big names.
Our "Share
In The Joy" album has a Prelude Blessing from
Fr. Bolte, followed by 13 songs in this order: Share In The Joy
(an original composition by bass player, Frank Sedler), You Are
The Voice, Lord Of The Dance, Without Clouds, Because The Lord
Is My Shepherd, Colors Of The Wind, Was It A Morning Like This
(originally performed by Sandi Patty), He Will Carry You, In
This Very Room, Make A Joyful Noise (featuring the children of
the musicians), River Of Glory, God Help The Outcasts, and In
The Day Of The Lord.
Limited
quantities of CDs and cassettes will be made and we’d like to
remind you that "Venimos"
sold out!. To ensure your copies we ask that you advance order
for yourself, family, and friends. Proceeds will again benefit
the medical needs of the children of our sister parish in San
Jose, Guatemala (we raised over $8,500 for the clinic with
"Venimos"). Several area stores (including
Walgreen’s and others to be announced) plan to carry the CD,
another reason to advance order while supplies last. Order forms
can be found in the back of the Church or at the Parish office.
Just fill out the form and deposit it in the Sunday collection
basket, return it to the office -OR- order right here
online!! Don’t forget listen to
the finished music sound
bites, and view pictures from our mixing and mastering sessions
in Cincinnati and Nashville. For more information or ordering
options contact Mary Massa at 574-5758.

With
another week of studio work behind them, the CD is really
starting to take shape! I wish everyone could see the work that
goes into this. I had the privilege of sitting in on two of the
recording sessions this past week and was VERY
impressed. You can feel the energy and excitement in the air
when this group of individuals is either playing their
instruments or singing with all of their heart. It was wonderful
to see the children's eyes light up after they heard themselves
seconds after recording their part for a song! What a concept
this must be for them to understand.
I
took my digital camera both nights, yes I said
nights! These people put in a hard day doing their
normal work and then dedicate at least six hours a night for a
week at a time over several months to put this together. When
you go to bed at night, they may be starting to lay down another
song on tape instead of their heads on a pillow! Below are a few
images I captured to attempt to bring this experience to you. I
hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
