Ministry Commission Angels on Wheels: Volunteers (many are retired) provide transportation for parishioners needing to go to the doctor, church functions, or other needs. To help or anyone needing transportation - Contact Mary Kaiser (662-0543). Christmas in July: This program is in response to the questions, "What could we, as a parish, do to keep that spirit of sharing we feel so deeply at Christmas, throughout the entire year?" Parishioners bring canned and boxed food donations to masses on the weekend closest to July 25th to help replenish Food Pantries for Social Service Agencies. Counseling: Those seeking personal or family professional counseling can meet with the professionals at Catholic Social Services (385-9600) on North Bend Rd. or a member of the parish staff. Contact Fr. Bolte or Sr. Bertha (661-6565). Disability Issues: There are programs in the parish and Archdiocese to assist anyone with disabilities. Contact Jim & Alice Sunderhaus (574-8277). Divorced/Separated: Individual support for those who are divorced or separated is coordinated by Janis Cassiere, contact the Parish Office (661-6565). Group gatherings are coordinated by Susan Holmes (521-1406). Ecumenism: Our goal is to share faith and fellowship with in the Church communities of the Monfort Heights area. Contact Fr. Emergency Meals: Meals are provided to parishioners on a temporary basis during times of crisis, such as hospitalization, serous illness, etc. Volunteers prepare meals in their homes and take them to the family in need. Contact Paula Trimble (662-7700). Evangelization Committee is a group that coordinates sharing the Gospel message of Jesus to those of our area in a variety of ways. Contact Tony Gagliarducci (853-0653). Jail Ministry: Responding to the Gospel to visit those in prisons, this a group that prays for and ministers to those in jail. Contact Gary Limle (661-3869). Legion of Mary: The Legion is a lay apostolic group: an army for service in Evangelism and promoting devotion to Mary. Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings. Contact Betty Rensing (661-8808). Lenten Soup Supper: The Soup Supper is held on Ash Wednesday before the evening liturgy. A simple meal of soup, bread and drink is provided and participants are asked to donate the cost of an evening meal out for themselves and their families to Catholic Relief Services. Contact Cathy Phillips (541-2802) or Sue Brinker (662-7083). Mission Committee is a group gathered to support the work of American based and world mission efforts. We have a strong covenant relationship with San Jose Parish in Guatemala. Contact Greg Lamping (385-1128) or Mark Holtel (481-0970). Nursing Home Visitation: These ministers serve the parish by visiting parishioners who are in nursing homes. Contact Sr. Bertha (661-6565). Outreach Fund: This fund was established to give witness to our faith community's solidarity with the poor. The money is distributed to needy organizations or churches beyond our parish boundaries. Contributions or memorials are accepted at any time. Contact Roger & Yvonne Olsen (661-3479). Parish Health Ministry: This ministry promotes individual, family and community health in body, mind and spirit. It involves empowerment, helping people to help themselves and others through education, prevention and advocacy. Volunteers are needed, especially nurses, doctors, and others in the health care profession. Contact Monica Smith (662-6141) or Barb Evans (574-7520). Peace & Justice: This group gives evidence in action of Jesus' commands to go forth and spread the Good News, to serve, to heal, to be sensitive to the immediate needs of those who suffer. Contact Bill Re (662-2826). Project 5000: This program is named for the gospel account of Jesus multiplying five loaves and two fish to feed a multitude of 5000. It is conducted for St. John's Social Service Center to provide direct relief to Cincinnati's poor. Each participating parish family or individual provides all or part of specific items needed by a family of four for two days. Shopping bags are provided at masses on Palm Sunday. The filled bags are collected on Holy Thursday. Contact Bill Huth (574-7353). Rainbows for Children & Spectrum for Teenagers: These are support programs for children and teens who have experienced a parent's death or whose parents are divorced/separated. For more information contact Tim Reilly (389-3242). Rehabbing: Rehabbing work occurs on most Saturdays. Youth and adults of the parish work with others to prepare buildings for occupancy by low-income families. Contact Tom Ball (481-9933) or Bill Cady (741-3540). Habitat for Humanity is an outreach of this group. Respect Life is a committee whose purpose is to foster a concern for, and activities in support of, those whose lives are at risk: the unborn, elderly, terminally or chronically ill, handicapped and poor. Contact Karen Placke (741-3557). Rice Bowls is the name of a Lenten Mission Program in which Parish members eat a simple meal in solidarity with the poor of the world. The members then donate the money they would normally spend on one large meal. Contact Betty Rensing (661-8808). St. Vincent de Paul: The purpose of this society is to assist the needy and less fortunate in our parish. Contact the Parish Office (661-6565) for assistance. To join the St. Vincent de Paul Society, contact the Parish Office. School Supply Drive: In August new school supplies are collected for students at St. Francis Seraph School, downtown Cincinnati. Contact Ed Emmerling (574-6921). Thanksgiving Food Drive: This collection helps St. Leo's Parish fill Thanksgiving baskets and replenish their Food Pantry. Contact the Cub Scouts.
