RCIA is in the First Phase called Inquiry. On Wednesday, September 26, Len Johansing is the Catechist for Old Testament Scriptures. The lesson will begin at 7:30pm in Rm B for all Participants, Confirmation Sponsors, and Parish Sponsors. Remember to keep RCIA members in your daily prayers.

The Distribution Date for Angel Food will be Saturday, September 29. The first shift will leave St. I's at 4:30am. The second shift will leave St. I's at 7:00am. To volunteer, call Geri Tengler.

Our New Dynamic VOCATION DIRECTOR, Fr. Kyle Schnippel, will celebrate at St. Ignatius 10:15am and 7:30pm Masses next Sunday, September 30. We hope many of our young adults will attend those Masses.

St. Vincent de Paul - Bundle Sunday Oct. 6 & 7: The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be in the Church parking lot on October 6 & 7. SVDP is particularly interested in clothing items - especially children's clothing. They are unable to accept donations of refrigerators, stoves, other large appliances and outdated encyclopedias. Also state regulations will not permit them to accept furniture that has rips, holes, etc. The committee will be at the truck before/after the 4:30pm Mass on Saturday, October 6th and before/after all Masses on Sunday, October 7th.

What happened to the Alpha Course? Nothing…it just took the summer off to rest the team and start planning for it re-presentation the first Tuesday after New Years. Mark your 2007 calendars now so you'll note it on the 2008 calendar you put into use later this year. It's a great program for renewal and for you to bring along those who have been away from the faith or even those who don't know much about Christianity. Look for more details soon. "Bridges to Contemplative Living" is a spiritual development program for adults who desire to live everyday life in a more contemplative way. Bridges was designed by the Merton Institute as a resource for individuals as well as members of small faith sharing groups looking for new ways to grow in their relationship with God and each other. This fall, four sessions will be offered at St. Ignatius centering on the program's first theme, "Entering the School of Your Experience." Come to one or all of these sessions and discover for yourself what Bridges is all about. Bring the Bridges experience back to your own small faith-sharing group or continue with the next part of this program in the spring. Benedict XVI has dedicated this year to St. Paul. Learn more about this pillar of the church by participating in a 4-session mini-course this fall. Journeying with St. Paul: His Life and Theology, begins Monday, October 15th at the Parish Office and runs from 7-8:30pm. Other meeting dates: October 29th, November 12th, and November 26th. Everyone is welcome; bring a friend! Call the Parish Office by October 10th to register.

REMINDER: Bible Study resumes Tuesday, October 9th from 11:00am-12:00 noon and continues to meet in the Parish Office through May on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month.

Well I hope everyone is doing great and settling into the new school year. This time of year always brings a bit of excitement for the parish. We know that when our parish school opens it's doors, PSR is not far behind and with that comes all the fun stuff…..Heritage Girls, Girl Scouts, Councils and Committees, Mom's and Dad's prayer groups and a whole host of other great things. Life around the parish is a buzz with activity.
It is great to see all the kids out in the fields playing football and soccer with their parents there to cheer them on. GO WILD CATS! Things just seem new and full of possibilities that didn't present themselves until just now. There are two things that have presented themselves, which have arisen out of sad events. This past year we had two parishioners that passed away that were pillars of faith, here at St. I's, Betty Rensing & Bill Grimme. Both Bill and Betty where active in the life of our parish and in sharing their faith. Bill taught our PSR confirmation students and Betty was very active in our RCIA and many youth events.
So this year we will offer the new BILL GRIMME - CONFIMERED IN THE SPIRIT AWARD. This award will be offered to that student, preparing for confirmation in either the PSR or parish day school, who most embodies the sacrament they are preparing for.
For Betty we are going to purchase a new Easter Candle stand, of a more grand proportion, dedicated to her. Since Betty was so involved with RCIA, I could think of no better gift to her than to offer her the same light of Christ which she offered to countless people entering the church.
We never know what this new year has in store for us, but I do know that even in those events that seem to cut us to the bone great things will always present themselves, if we continue to have hope. Have a blessed year and know that in about 10 weeks our New Liturgical year is upon us!

Parish Health Ministry: Blood Pressures will be taken after 4:30pm Mass on Saturday, September 29th and after all Sunday AM Masses September 30th in the Bride's Room by the front entrance of Church.
Vial of Life containers will be available in the Bride's Room. The little bottles contain a paper on which you can list your current medications placing the bottle in your refrigerator. If the Life Squad should need to come to your home the information is there for them. There is also a magnet to place on your refrigerator alerting them to this.

LIFE TEEN UPDATE: For those High School students that missed it, our first Life Night at Saint I's was great. Not only did we have a good turnout of teens from Saint I's, but thanks to our youth CORE, we also had teens from Little Flower, St. Catherine's, St. Antoninus, Lourdes, and even from Germany. St. X, LaSalle, McAuley, Mercy, Colerain, and home schoolers were all represented. It was a great night of learning about the historical reality of Jesus and the clear evidence that He was, what He said He was, the Son of God, our Lord and our Savior. So how do you follow that up? We do another Life Night! So join us this Monday, the 24th for "Clean Out Your Ears", as we discuss what things keep us from hearing God's voice in our lives and discuss ways to "listen" better to what He has to say to us. Church Guide Book and Directory: We are updating our annual Guide Book for the Parish. Basketball Sign Up for Girls and Boys Team: Sign up for both Girls and Boys Basketball Teams will be held Tuesday, September 18 in the Wildcat Room from 6-8:00pm. Registration fee is $45.00 ($25 for 3rd/4th grade girls). The $50.00 annual family membership fee is also due at sign ups if not paid for fall sports. Questions? Respect Life News: New members are needed to join the Respect Life Committee. Our goal is to restore respect for rights of all humans, born and unborn… and to model and encourage an attitude of respect for all human life. Spiritual, informational, and educational activities, along with fundraising events, are organized to meet these goals. Please consider attending our next meeting on Wednesday, September 26 at 7:30pm in Rm C. We will discuss upcoming events and the need to increase membership and assign leadership roles. The Boy Scouts of St. Ignatius Troop 850 will be hosting their 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 28th. The Scouts now have advance tickets for purchase and are anxious to see which of them can sell the most tickets and win the opportunity to make a big pancake of our Scout Leader, Dan Rottmueller. For those of you who have been to one of our breakfasts, you know what I mean…. for those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about….
