Greetings!

For those of you who have not yet met me, my name is Adam McMahon, and I am a seminarian preparing to be a Catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. As part of my seminary formation, I will be spending the entire year at St. Ignatius parish. To give you a little background about myself, I would like to tell you about the two most important decisions I ever made.

First, if a number of years ago you would have told me that I would be studying to be a Catholic priest, I would have laughed out loud. Not because I had anything against the priesthood, but simply because I was not Catholic. In fact, I am a convert to the Catholic Church. And, this decision to enter the Catholic Church is certainly the most important decision I ever made. To enter into Christ's Body and Love, that is why we are all here!

Now, the second most important decision occurred a few years ago, when I decided to honestly discern a vocation to the priesthood. And to my surprise, God called me to be His priest. Being a priest in today's world is not an easy endeavor. Yet, in faith, I believe God will give me the grace to serve His Church through the priestly vocation.

Over the course of this year, I hope to meet you all. It's great to be at St. Ignatius Parish!

In Christ,

Adam McMahon

The Parish Health Ministry strives to express the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by using its members' gifts of healing in the service of the Saint Ignatius community. Today more and more hospitals offer its patients the opportunity to complement conventional medical care with other holistic approaches to health and healing, among them the ministry of "Healing Touch". During the coming months, the Parish Health Ministry will share more details about this approach to stress reduction, relaxation and healing. This week, we offer three powerful healing principles which you might want to focus on as you go about your day. First: the power of affirming love is extraordinary. Second: the Holy Spirit can and will do within you what you cannot do yourself. Third: turn off the bad news and turn on the good news. If you would like to know more about the ministry of Healing Touch and how it is incorporated in our health care system, contact Barb Evans. Watch for more information about this in future bulletins.
