A Few Words From Fr. Pete

Well as the liturgical year begins to fade into the new season of Advent, plenty of things are just beginning here at St. I’s. Our sacramental programs for the children are well underway, our Confirmation kids have been commissioned and are now candidates for the sacrament and our 2nd graders have begun in Earnest to prepare themselves for 1st Reconciliation, the 1st step towards First Communion. RCIA is going strong, with your help and gracious response to become parish sponsors. Our Life Teen program for our high school students is going strong with plenty of participants, and always with room for more. Sr. Lucy has two new programs up and running, Contemplative Everyday living and a wonderful class that covers the theology of St. Paul (if interested, please contact the office). We are very near the completion of the sewer project (yeah).

As everyone knows we have had very little rain over the past months (minus the past few days) and our fields have taken a beating. With luck and with the cooperation of our Athletic Association and a generous gift of donated equipment, we are going to be able to hydro-seed our fields and try and repair as much of the damage as possible. When the seeding begins it is very important that we keep off the fields until spring. So this means for some that you will have to find another field to play your Thanksgiving football game, sorry about that but it must be so. This will be a continuous effort on both our part and Athletics to maintain the playability of this great asset of ours.

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to Andy Hassett for his wonderful homemade box cabinet for our sacristy. This is just one of the many ways in which our parishioners take an active role in stewardship. Thanks Andy! Next simple project is the cleaning of our servers sacristy!

I would also like to thank all of you for your birthday wishes, 43 is not too bad.
God Bless
Fr. Pete

Wednesday, October 24 with Rosary at 6:30 PM before Mass at 7:15 PM.

We need your help. Many less fortunate souls need items to keep them warm this winter. Your gently worn or new gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, blankets, and yarn will keep many less fortunate souls warm this winter. Please drop off all donations to the Parish Office. Thank you.
