The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the domestic anti-poverty
program of the US Bishops. It was founded almost 40 years ago to address
the root causes of poverty in America. Since it is supported almost entirely
by parish collections, the Campaign is a wonderful opportunity for St.
Ignatius parishioners to reach out to the 27 million Americans who live
below the poverty line. Since the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is usually
the 2nd highest donor to this Campaign in the country, we usually are
given a greater share of the total collection and it is used wisely in
our area. Please be generous once again at this years collection
on November 24th & 25th. For more information, go to www.usccb.org/cchd/
or to find out what CCHD is doing here in our archdiocese go to www.catholiccincinnati.org/socialaction/cchd.html. SCARF IT UP CLUB A Few Words From the Pope (I thought you might like to read the Popes address to the faithful for the Holy Day. Remember, pray for the dead for the dead pray for us.) Fr. Pete SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS Dear Brothers and Sisters, The Church has wisely placed in close succession the Feast of All Saints
and All Souls' Day. Our prayer of praise to God and veneration of the
blessed spirits which today's liturgy presents to us as "a great
multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes
and peoples and tongues" (Rv 7: 9), is united with prayers of suffrage
for all who have preceded us in passing from this world to eternal life.
We dedicate our prayers to them in a special way and we celebrate the
Eucharistic Sacrifice for them. To tell the truth, the Church invites
us to pray for them every day, also offering our daily sufferings and
efforts so that, completely purified, they may be admitted to the eternal
joy of light and peace in the Lord. Come and experience Jesus healing power in the Holy sacrifice
of the Mass. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Prayers
for the healing will be available after Mass, followed with Benediction.
