You need to know what “UCCF” is! It’s the program entitled “Understanding the Church Christ Founded”! It is a follow up to the Alpha Course BUT is open to ANYONE interested in getting answers to questions they may have about the Catholic Church. Starts on March 31st. Pick up a flyer at the exits of Church or at the Parish Office for more information. Questions? Call Deacon Tony.

Please pledge your support for six of our very important regional church ministries, through the Catholic Ministries Appeal. 100% of your contribution goes to Catholic Social Services, campus ministries, lay and ordained ministries education, St. Rita School for the Deaf, support of our retired priests, and chaplains for our hospitals and prisons. Our parish goal this year is $44,500.00. Please be generous.

Spring “DISCOVERING JESUS SEMINAR” will be held on seven consecutive Wednesday evenings starting April 16 through May 28 from 7:30pm-9:00pm in Hilvert Center. The teachings will help you to experience a closer relationship with Our Lord Jesus and to experience the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. For further information and registration, please call 513-471- LITE. There is no charge for the seminar, but a donation of $5.00 is requested to cover the cost of the materials. Sponsored by the Lighthouse Renewal Center.

A Divine Mercy Holy Hour will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church next Sunday, March 30th from 2-3:00pm. You are invited.

Did you know…that each class in St. Ignatius School is paired with one of our senior parishioners, many of whom live alone, are homebound, or reside in a nursing home/retirement center? The children and the seniors pray for each other throughout the year, and at holiday times the children often send cards, write letters, or craft some small gift for their senior contact. If you are aware of any parishioner who might enjoy being a part of this program, please leave their name and contact information with our Parish Office, or call Sister Lucy.

Catholic Teaching on the Dignity of Work: The economy must serve people, not the other way around. Work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continuing participation in God’s act of creation. If the dignity of work is to be protected, then the basic rights of workers, owners, and others must be respected – the right to productive work, to decent and fair wages, to organize and choose to join a union, to economic initiative, and to ownership and private property. These rights must be exercised in ways that advance the common good. – USCB Administrative Committee, Faithful Citizenship: A Catholic Call to Political Responsibility, p.15.

The St. I’s Community welcomes the following individuals into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil: Kayla Berryhill, Jonathan Gonzalez, Jeremy King, Chris Monday, Jason Spradlin, Cody Spradlin, Barbara Hurrelbrink, Brenda Kamuf, Amy Meyer, Marc Morgan, Joshua Roberts, Maryann Siegel, Jennifer Spradlin, Rachel Carter, William Carter, Alecia Camarca, and Kelly Hoog.

St. Vincent de Paul - Second Collection- -March 29/30: The St. Vincent de Paul Society here at St. Ignatius needs your help on March 29/30 (Second Collection) to aid those in our parish area who come to us in serious need. We were very busy during the Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday season aiding families with food vouchers, turkeys, heating needs, rents, medicines, clothing etc. One example of our work was that we found a family (mother & 3 teenagers) living in an apartment in the heart of Monfort Heights with no furniture at all! They all slept on the floors! Through your generosity, they now have 4 beds, 4 chest of drawers, 2 lamps, a sofa, a dinning room table and chairs. You also provided Christmas presents and food for the family. Thanks for all the help that you give to St. Vincent de Paul during the year.

Would you believe that the average age of our SVDP Committee is over 39? We could use some additional muscle power to load the trucks. Could you spare 20 minutes before or after the Mass that you normally attend? If so, please contact Bob Gervers and let him know the times you can help. Thank you.

Our sincerest sympathy is extended to the families of Marge Frank, wife of Joseph; William J. Fox, husband of Jean, father of Janet (Wally) Thornbury/Wright; and Nelda Meale, mother of Gina (Mario) Onorini. May their families find comfort in knowing they are with God.

St. Ignatius Church offers child care during 10:15 and 12:00 noon masses all year. This service is offered to help allow couples with young children to participate in mass. We play games, sing songs, read books, play with toys, and color. Any child 6 months through kindergarten is welcome to join us. We are located in a conference room behind church. Use the church office entrance and turn left at the first hallway.

Make your Easter complete as we gather on Divine Mercy weekend to listen to Fr. Robert Graves. He will discuss “Living in the Divine Will”. March 28 is the gathering for priests and Deacons at the Comboni Mission Center, Nagel Rd. For reservations call Diane McMullin

ALLELUIA

On behalf of everyone here at St. Ignatius of Loyola, HAPPY EASTER. Easter, a time of new life, is spring for our life and not necessarily for flowers and warmer weather. Spring is a time to come to grips with just what it was that Christ did for us, the suffering He endured, and the passion He went through. A time to understand that the gates of heaven are no longer closed but Christ has opened them for all people for all time, both past and present.

Easter is the perfect testament to God’s love for his creation, us. A Love that took shape according to His image and no one else’s, nor any image found in the world today. We celebrate today, the Holiest Day of Our Year, because we have a chance to see the sacraments working for us and through us, to bring us to the eternal presence of Father, Son and Spirit. Death has been destroyed and eternal life is granted for those who follow in Christ footsteps.

The tomb has been overcome and death has been destroyed, life, hope and love have championed over the grave. With certainty we know that God is for us and with us always. God will go to any length to bring us home to rest in Him. Christ will carry the cross in order to save us from sin and death. So sing hymns of praise and give thanks, for your God loves you beyond comprehension and only ask for you the same. Let your Lenten sacrifice continue to guide you in works of Easter joy and so come to share in life promised us beyond the grave and in the presence of God eternal, a kingdom of light happiness and peace.

Happy Easter Everyone, ALLELUIA Christ has Rose!
Easter Joy
Fr. Pete
