MOM's Kick off meeting for the 07-08 year is Friday, September 14th, at 7:00pm in Hilvert Center at St. Ignatius. Come meet other mothers of young children, pick up our calendar of events for the year, and sign up for playgroups. Appetizers, desserts, and drinks will be served. There is no need for reservations, and please feel free to bring friends, relatives, or neighbors who might be interested. No matter if you stay at home full-time, work outside of the home, have one child, or many there is a place for you in M.O.M.'s. We are an organization within the parish for mothers with young children, and we are dedicated to providing spiritual support for one another, social activities, and service to the parish and local community. Mothers of all ages are encouraged to join us. We plan activities during the day and in the evening to accommodate all schedules. A calendar of our fall planned events will be handed out at the meeting.

If you are unable to attend, but are interested in learning more about M.O.M's and our upcoming events, please contact Katie Walro to be added to our mailing list .
Additionally, playgroups are continually being added based on the child's birthday. If you are interested in joining a playgroup and can't attend the meeting, please contact Valerie Bender .

MOMs Christian Service is one way that members of St. Ignatius Parish help each other and families in need. MCS usually provides meals to families for a few weeks after the birth of a child; however our members volunteer to assist new families with whatever is needed. If you, or if you know someone who is willing to help provide meals please call Julie Paul to volunteer. We look forward to meeting you on September 14th!

Our sincerest sympathy and prayers are extended to the families of Dorothy Herth, wife of Bernard, and mother of Kim Weeden; and Walter Bambach, husband of Joyce. May their families find comfort in knowing they are with God.

A Few Words From Fr. Pete

Just a few days ago I celebrated my 1st year anniversary here at St. I's. It is an easy one to remember because it comes just before our festival. I must say that the year flew by; I guess they knew what they where saying when they said, "time flies when you are having fun". Because I truly did have fun and still am, and it should be fun for I could not have wished for anything more than to come home to such a parish as St. I's.

I still remember my 1st conversation with a parishioner; I had just finished unpacking and went out to watch the football practice. I introduced myself and the first words out of their mouth were, "you're not going to get rid of field four are you?" I said, "Why yes I am". With a look of horror and a gapped jaw, I quickly added, "I have only been here for 14 hours I don't even know where field four is". Well maybe you had to be there but trust me it was funny.

I can say this with all honesty that a day never goes by when I am not amazed by the charity, and works of at least one of our parishioners and your marvelous staff. I am amazed with which you get things done, be it Christmas & Easter decorations, to organizing countless athletic teams, supporting our education efforts and most of all your stewardship.
Thank you all for a wonderful year, and I know it will only get better!

God Bless

Fr. Pete

I would be amiss if I did not thank Barb Campbell for all her work on behalf of the parish in getting our festival up and running. The effort she puts in all year to make sure that your festival is the best in the Archdiocese is beyond words but not beyond our thanks. Did You Know? There is more aluminum in that little tab you pull to open your soda or food items, than there is in the whole can. By collecting and saving those little tabs, you can make a huge impact in the lives of those families who have children suffering from catastrophic illness and find it necessary to seek shelter at our Ronald McDonald House here in Cincinnati. This is an easy and fun project for large groups as well as individuals or families and with very little effort; you can be that touch of an Angel for someone else. You may continue to bring your tabs to church and deposit them in the container in the Brides room and I will take them to the House. .
