Parish Health Ministry: The Alzheimer's Association
will be presenting the 19th Summer Symposium August 24th at the METS Center
in Erlanger, KY. The theme for this year's symposium is "Quality
of Life: It's In The Journey." The person and family affected by
dementing disorders experience a disease course and caregiving journey
that is uniquely individualized. Thus, this symposium addresses many aspects
of that very challenging journey. Please call for more information on
registration. In addition to the symposium, the Alzheimer's Association
is hosting a Family Event, A Night for Caregivers, on Thursday, August

Coming Youth Events: Life Teen Update: Our Life Teen CORE group met last Monday and worked on our upcoming Fall schedule. With topics like "What Are You Looking At?", "Cold Shoulder", "Gut Check" and "Move", our first official series of Life Nights should be fun and interesting. Our Fall Life Teen Program will kick off September 10th, but all High School students are invited to join us on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 as we continue to plan, prepare and have fun. Due to some recent moves, we have a few unexpected openings in AM and PM Kindergarten. Contact School Office St. Leo's Food Pantry: A few weeks ago, it was reported in the bulletin that the pantry will receive 36 chickens to feed 250 families. Geri Tengler has been notified that the pantry will not be receiving chickens this month. Can you help? Please make checks payable to St. Leo's Food Pantry and drop them off at the Parish Office. Last, week we gave the pantry $780.00. Under the present conditions at the pantry, this amount will last 3 weeks. One reason why the pantry is low on food is that the children are not receiving lunch at school, therefore, families are coming to the pantry. Food items, such as, peanut butter, tuna fish, canned corn, soup, bar soap, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet tissue can be dropped off in the metal drawers inside the vestibule of the Parish Office. Thank you to Denny & Jo Ann Davis for taking the food down once a week. Also, thank to Anne Donoghue and JoAnn Luehrman for volunteering in the pantry. Today is the School Supply Drive for St. Francis Seraph. Items needed: Crayola Markers (8pack), Wide ruled notebook paper, mechanical pencils, hand lotion, tissues, pocket folders, colored pencils.
